The Indianapolis Colts picked up a needed win in Week 17 over the Las Vegas Raiders.

And let me tell you, these player of the week articles are a lot more enjoyable to write following a win.

This week's player of the week felt pretty easy. RB Jonathan Taylor had a strong day from start to finish and was the engine that made the Colts offense go today.

Jonathan Taylor Week 17 stats:

Taylor rushed for 96 yards on 21 carries today and found the endzone for a 2nd straight week. Late in the game, head coach Shane Steichen stood true to his preseason statement:

"We will throw to score, and run to win games"

When the Colts offensive line is on, it feels like they have dominated in the run game as of late. And we saw that first-hand late in this game. They were able to take time off the clock and extend their lead to ten, and while the Raiders would score a touchdown in the final minutes, they didn't have enough time to make it a game.

Taylor has looked solid coming back from his thumb injury. And with a potential winner gets in (the playoffs) Week 18 matchup with the Houston Texans, the Colts will likely look to keep his recent success going.
