Bengals' Zac Taylor shows ultimate respect toward Chiefs' defense

Today's rivalries may not be as nasty as they used to be back in the day, but there are still some pretty good ones that display a good level of hate and trash talk towards one another. The Kansas City Chiefs rivalry with the Cincinnati Bengals is just that.
It's not as nasty as they used to be – like the Chiefs and Oakland Raiders, or even Los Angeles Raiders used to be. A large reason why is because of how different the game of football is now. However, this one between these two AFC powerhouses displays everything else you want in a rivalry.
As we saw earlier in the week, the trash talk began this time from Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase. He said the Chiefs secondary wasn't good; it wasn't anything special. We also saw that the Chiefs secondary later did their talking on the field, as they held Chase to four catches for 41 yards.
After the game, Chase still didn't give any credit to the Chiefs. He doubled down on everything he said because why wouldn't he, right? It seems every time these two teams play one another, the players don't give the opposite team much credit, and the Chiefs aren't innocent.
However, after the game, the Bengals head coach, Zac Taylor, gave the Chiefs all the credit they deserved.
"People have not really scored points on them," Taylor said after the loss to Kansas City. "I think they are second in the league in terms of points given up. They don't give up big plays. They do a good job of rushing the passer."
The Chiefs have had their best defense, probably ever, in the Andy Reid era. This is definitely the best defense Patrick Mahomes has had on his team, and the Bengals got a good look at it firsthand.
Despite not making the playoffs this year, and a large part of that is because of Joe Burrow being injured throughout the year, the Bengals were still a pretty good team in 2023. And their head coach, he's a pretty stand-up guy. But just know that they will be back next season.

The Chiefs won the AFC West for the eighth consecutive time.
