The Arizona Cardinals are moving on from wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., but the trade destination is still unknown. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport, Arizona plans to trade Harrison after Week 5, and the former first-round pick won’t play against the Detroit Lions.

The Cardinals’ decision opens the door for several contenders and rebuilding teams to add a young receiver with upside. Here are five potential landing spots for Harrison.

Houston Texans

Houston is the one team with a direct link to the situation. Schefter mentioned the Texans as a potential suitor, and his Texans source didn’t confirm or deny the report.

The fit makes sense on paper. Nico Collins is a high-level No. 1 wide receiver, but the depth behind him is not that strong. The other wide receivers listed as starters are Xavier Hutchinson and Kayshon Boutte, whom the Texans already acquired in 2026. The bigger issue is the loss of Jayden Higgins for the season with an injury. Without him, the Texans need another reliable option, and Harrison would be an intriguing bet for that role.

Marvin played alongside quarterback CJ Stroud for two years at Ohio State.

Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs have a clear need at receiver. Rashee Rice hasn’t performed at the level Kansas City would expect, and Xavier Worthy is the only other healthy starter. Tyquan Thornton is injured and will miss significant time.

KC absolutely needs another wide receiver. The upside is easy to see. Harrison could regain his value under head coach Andy Reid while catching passes from quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Few situations in the league offer a better chance for a receiver to rebuild his stock.

Minnesota Vikings

Minnesota already has plenty of talent in the wide receiver room with Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison. However, the signing of Jauan Jennings hasn’t worked as expected, so the Vikings would realistically want a third wide receiver.

The interesting aspect is the quarterback connection. Harrison has already played with Kyler Murray, and that familiarity would make the move an enticing proposition for both sides, even though the fit in Arizona never materialized.

Miami Dolphins

This one is more difficult. The Dolphins are rebuilding, and they probably wouldn’t want to spend draft capital on a veteran.

Harrison could be the type of player Miami makes an exception for, though. First, the Dolphins don’t have high-end wide receivers on the roster. Beyond that, Harrison is still a young player. Miami could treat him almost like a draft pick, a player with long-term value rather than a short-term rental.

That framing matters for a rebuilding team. Acquiring Harrison wouldn’t be a win-now move. Instead, it would be a bet on a former first-round talent who still fits the timeline.

Las Vegas Raiders

The Raiders are still looking for a high-end wide receiver. The current starting receivers for Las Vegas are Tre Tucker, Cody White, and Jalen Nailor.

A player like Harrison could raise the ceiling of that unit right away. And the long-term angle might be even more appealing. If Harrison pans out, pairing him with No. 1 overall pick quarterback Fernando Mendoza would give the Raiders a young duo to build around for years.
