The Buffalo Bills were in severe danger of missing the playoffs after a Week 12 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, but they completely turned their season around by winning the next four games.
Taking care of business in that fashion allowed them to snatch the AFC's No. 6 seed heading into the season finale against the Miami Dolphins. But, Buffalo could still miss out on the big dance if they lost to the Dolphins and the Jacksonville Jaguars and Pittsburgh Steelers won their respective games.
The Steelers beat the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday night, but the Jags lost to the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, therefore, the Bills are officially in the big dance.
No more worrying about getting banished with a loss: it's all about beating the Dolphins, winning the AFC East and improving playoff positioning, now. If the Bills do in fact win on Sunday night, they could jump all the way up to the No. 2 seed because they'll have swept the Dolphins, they'd hold the head-to-head tiebreaker over a potential 11-6 Kansas City Chiefs team, and they wouldn't have to worry about the Houston Texans, who are AFC South champs at 10-7.
And, if they jump to No. 2, they'll host the Steelers. If they lose, they'll finish at No. 7 and will play the Dolphins for a third time, in Miami, in the Wild Card Round.
It's been a rollercoaster ride, but the Bills' arrow is pointing up at the perfect time of year and if they can take care of business against the Dolphins, then it'll be easy to see why they are a top-2 favorite to bring home the Lombardi Trophy.
