The Las Vegas Raiders have the best receiver in football, and he wasn't very happy last week, to say the least. They haven't been utilizing him as much as they maybe should, considering his status in the league and the fact the offense is struggling so badly.
He didn't necessarily complain about his touches and the fact he wasn't getting the ball because he has the most targets on the team this year. It's the sporadic moments of getting the ball. He was also saying that he knows the offense plays its best when he is getting the ball.
The Raiders finally unlocked Adams, though, as the first four passes of the game were all to the future Hall of Famer. His first few passes got him to move past Jerry Rice, the greatest receiver of all time and a former Raiders receiver, in the record books for one specific record.
Here is what the Raiders PR team tweeted out about that record:
With his 26 receiving yards so far today, WR Davante Adams has reached 2,000 receiving yards through 24 games played with the Raiders, passing Jerry Rice's 27 games for the second-fastest receiver to 2,000+ receiving yards in franchise history – only behind Art Powell (21 games).
Adams has been a top-three receiver in the league for a long time now, and you could even say he has been the best receiver in the league for a long time. I believe he is the best, and this stat certainly helps show it.
The Raiders need to utilize Adam way more than we are and put him in better positions to succeed, too. He is being double-teamed all game long in almost every game on almost every snap.
