The Las Vegas Raiders played a strong second half against the New York Jets on Sunday. That second half won them the game, as they were down 23-14 at the break. They won 38-33. And that first half was just bad on all sides. They scored one offensive TD and exploded in the second half for 31 points.

This team is definitely getting better. In fact, they’re only two wins away from doubling last season’s win total. And that could be easy. But that win over the Jets revealed something, something kind of scary about this team and the rest of 2026.

They barely beat the Jets, who are one of the worst teams in the NFL. They barely beat the New Orleans Saints, who are 2-5. Their four wins have all come against maybe the four worst teams in the league.

That’s good. Take advantage of those games, because every team has them. And not every team wins those. But that shows this team still has a way to go. The rest of their schedule is another way to show this team just isn’t ready yet.

Raiders’ remaining schedule from here on out is terribly hard

The Raiders just went on a four-game losing streak. Those four games were against four of the best teams in the NFL: the Chiefs, Patriots, Bills, and Rams. Now, after playing the Jets, they’re going back to hard games. They play the 49ers next, then the Seahawks, Broncos, Browns, a potential break with the Chargers, and then the Broncos again. They also play the Chiefs in Week 18.

If every remaining game goes as intended, they can still finish with nine wins. But with this team, we don’t know what will happen. So many wildcards and variables change weekly. But the Jets game showed that the rest of this schedule could become a true gauntlet.
