You might have noticed something peculiar about Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes' wardrobe ahead of the Week 7 game against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Mahomes entered GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium wearing a fairly typical pre-game fit. He boasted a pair of his new Oakley glasses, a black and red jacket, and a Texas Tech T-shirt underneath. However, you might have noticed a peculiar-looking feature on the T-shirt.

Mahomes has a piece of tan tape with "Adidas" written on it. Check it out:

It looks a little bit tacky, but it serves an important purpose for Mahomes.

Mahomes has an exclusive merchandising deal with Adidas, which produces his Mahomes Impact 1 FLX shoes. His alma mater, Texas Tech, has a deal with Under Armour. Well, at least for the time being. Mahomes has reportedly been facilitating a deal between Adidas and Texas Tech.

He announced just minutes ago that the partnership is officially coming in July of 2024.

This probably won't be the last time we see a partnership of this sort facilitated by No. 15. Mahomes is to Adidas what Michael Jordan was to Nike.
