It is going to be another long week in Cleveland worrying about the quarterback position.
Now, the Cleveland Browns turn their focus to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 8 after beating the Indianapolis Colts in a close one. For the Browns, they don’t know who their quarterback in that game is going to be right now.
After saying Deshaun Watson was the starter in Week 8 after the Colts game, Kevin Stefanski is continuing to say that Watson is ‘day-to-day’ with his availability. Additionally, it was revealed that defensive end Alex Wright is in concussion protocol.
Watson played just two drives against the Colts before he was knocked to the turf hard and did not return. He exited the game due to the shoulder, and then a concussion check was done as a result of his head bouncing off the ground. After passing protocol, Watson did not enter and Stefanski said following the game that he was protecting his quarterback.
"I'm always going to be protective of our players, especially at the quarterback position,” Stefanski said on Monday.
When the Browns practice on Wednesday, all attention will turn to whether or not Watson is available. It is worth nothing he was a full participant Friday before they played the Colts.
Cleveland has a decision to make with P.J. Walker having used his three practice squad elevations already. They’ll have to sign him or release him. Stefanski was asked if Watson could go to the injured reserve and he declined to comment on it.
Even when you think there won’t be, there are quarterback worries in Cleveland. Week 8 is going to be much of the same in preparation of Seattle.
