The Tennessee Vols don't beat the Texas A&M Aggies on Saturday without Dee Williams.
Williams' punt return for a touchdown in the second half against the Aggies, which gave the Vols the lead, provided the spark that Tennessee needed to win the game.
And we might be seeing that spark more often in the not-so-distant future.
After a couple of weeks of rumors and speculation, Williams said after the game that he's been lobbying to play offense and he thinks it'll happen "soon".
Williams has incredible field vision and he's pretty much a threat to score every time he touches the ball. He's a different type of player than Cordarrelle Patterson was for the Vols in 2012, but he puts the same type of fear in the opposition. If Tennessee can get the ball in Williams' hands on offense, there's a good chance he's going to come through with at least a couple of exciting touchdowns.
Tennessee's 5-1 midway through the season. But the offense clearly needs a spark — at least in the passing game. Why not give Williams a shot and see what happens?
