The New Orleans Saints have made a quarterback move. No, it doesn't involve Derek Carr or Jameis Winston.

Rookie Jake Haener has returned from his suspension. Accordingly, the Saints have waived veteran QB Jake Luton. 

The rookie gunslinger will replace Luton as QB3 for New Orleans behind Derek Carr and Jameis Winston.

Haener made some plays in the preseason, but he has a ways to go to be a legitimate backup at the NFL level. The Saints do like his potential, though.

Haener was the 127th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
