The Cincinnati Bengals have released their inactive players list for their Week 5 game against the Arizona Cardinals.
The following players will not suit up for the Bengals today:
- CB Chidobe Awuzie
- LB Akeem Davis-Gaither
- WR Tee Higgins
- G Trey Hill
- OT D'Ante Smith
- DT Josh Tupou
Awuzie (back) and Higgins (rib) each being out has big implications. Rookie DJ Turner II is expected to start in place of Awuzie, and fellow 2023 NFL Draft pick DJ Ivey is active for the first time this season. Ivey will be needed for depth the same way Turner has provided it for the first four weeks.
With no Higgins at receiver, Trenton Irwin and rookie Andrei Iosivas are expected to each have a hand in taking his snaps on the boundary. Ja'Marr Chase and Tyler Boyd will have to be relied on more often, but their roles shouldn't change too much.
Davis-Gaither was already declared out on Friday. Hill, Smith, and Tupou are healthy scratches. Smith and Tupou were active for the team's first four games this season.
Edge defender Trey Hendrickson is active despite dealing with a back injury. We'll see if his snaps are limited with a full stable of pass rushers available at the Bengals' disposal.
