The Cincinnati Bengals had their best offensive output of the season despite not having wide receiver Tee Higgins on the field. Higgins missed Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals with a rib fracture that he suffered the previous week.
Head coach Zac Taylor didn't make any proclamations about Higgins' status for this week other than he'll continue to be "day-to-day."
"Just continue to see how the week goes," Taylor said of his starting receiver. "He was able to do some stuff as the weekend got closer. I didn't feel comfortable with how he was gonna feel during the game. It wasn't right to put him in that spot.
"We'll continue to take it day-to-day this week."
Higgins, who fractured a single rib against the Tennessee Titans in Week 4, missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday before practicing in a limited capacity on Friday leading up to the Bengals' Week 5 game against the Cardinals. Higgins was officially listed as questionable, but he was reportedly declared out on Saturday.
That he practiced a bit on Friday indicates there's a good chance he'll be practicing in some capacity to begin this week, but it comes down to how he's feeling at the end of the day.
The Bengals have their bye week following this week's game against the Seattle Seahawks. Higgins could be held out in order to give him an extra week of rest, but Taylor didn't say whether or not that will impact their decision with him.
If Higgins is good to go for Sunday, odds are he will play regardless.
