The Las Vegas Raiders finally got a win and one from their defense, nonetheless. Coming into 2023, and we have harped on this a ton already, we thought the offense would be carrying the defense.

Look at the roster on both sides of the ball; the offense has a much better roster on paper. The defense still has a ton of holes, yet they had moments where they played better than expected, whereas the offense has yet to break 17 points in a game.

The defense held the Packers to 13 points, which is amazing. Two field goals and one touchdown is a great outing for any defense against any offense, but especially for a defense as bad as the Raiders.

Some advanced stats, and just stats in general, show just how bad the Raiders' defense has been and how good they were on Monday Night Football.

Raiders' advanced stats show great defense

The Raiders' defense did some pretty impressive things on Monday, but most specifically, they created three turnovers, something this team has been bad at for years now. The Raiders haven't had a positive turnover differential since 2016, which is really, really crazy, to say the least.

This is the first time since Week 6 of 2021 that the Raiders have had 3+ interceptions in a single game, which was as many as they had in their prior ten games combined. They don't get interceptions often, so Monday Night Football was also a huge game in that aspect.

As for Maxx Crosby, the 2023 Week 5 Defensive Player of the Week, he finished with four quarterback pressures, which is his 23rd game with 4+ pressures over the last three seasons, five more than the next closest players in the NFL in Nick Bosa and Micah Parsons. He was different, to say the least.

If the defense can play even a bit like they did, they can win their next four or five games based on their schedule.
