The Indianapolis Colts have an interest in trading for a former first-round pick.
Sources have told me that the Colts have called the Denver Broncos to express their interest in trading for WR Jerry Jeudy.
To add to this report, I also spoke with a source close to the Denver Broncos, who also was able to confirm that the Colts are one of the teams who have called about Jerry Jeudy.
This wasn't the first time the Colts have expressed interest in trading for Jerry Jeudy, as this is now the third time I've been made aware of the team making a call about Jeudy's availability. What makes this time seem different is the fact that people around the NFL now expect Jeudy to be traded before this year's trade deadline.
I've been told multiple teams around the league have made calls to the Broncos expressing interest in Jeudy. This means the Colts have competition for the former first-round pick, which could result in their being a bidding war in terms of compensation.
If the Colts elected to pull the trigger on Jeudy, it would be even more evidence of how much trust they seem to have in rookie QB Anthony Richardson. Richardson was put on IR this week, meaning he will miss the next four games, but building an offense around Richardson with Jonathan Taylor, Michael Pittman Jr., Josh Downs, and Jerry Jeudy would be quite the offense for head coach Shane Steichen to work with.
As I receive more information on this front, I will update you all accordingly.
