New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara knows how the NFL works quite well. When he entered the league, he was Mark Ingram's backup for New Orleans.
Now, the Saints star running back precedes rookie running back Kendre Miller. Miller has been involved since Kamara's return from suspension, and Week 5 was the rookie's best game in the NFL so far. Kamara had some wise words regarding Miller's outlook after their win against the New England Patriots.
It's clear that Kamara recognizes the rookie's talent and abilities. Those flashed consistently in camp, and now, they are on full display.
That being said, the veteran also knows how difficult the transition to the NFL can be for running backs. It's a different animal.
Miller had an even tougher road to begin his NFL career as he dealt with injuries at the end of his college career and the beginning of his time with the Saints.
He's pushed through that impressively and looks like he can be a key piece to offensive depth for the Saints moving forward. Kamara is preaching patience with the fan base regarding Miller. He's got the talent, and that will show with time.
Miller's veteran teammates will be extremely important in his development – just like it was with #41. He's lucky to have proven talent around him like Kamara, Derek Carr, Michael Thomas, and many more.
