The Philadelphia Eagles drafted Foles with the 88th pick in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft. He played for six different NFL teams during his 11-year NFL career.

  • Philadelphia Eagles five years (2012-2014, 2017-2018)
  • Chicago Bears two years (2020-2021)
  • Indianapolis Colts one year (2022)
  • Jacksonville Jaguars one year (2019)
  • Kansas City Chiefs one year (2016)
  • St. Louis Rams one year (2015)

Foles' most recent season in the NFL came with the Colts in 2022, where he was signed to be the backup to veteran Matt Ryan. He went on to start two games for the Colts during a season that the team would only win four games, which would result in the team landing a top draft pick that they would use to draft today's starter, Anthony Richardson.

The most memorable tenure of Foles's career came during the 2017 playoffs when he was filling in for injured starting QB Carson Wentz (also a former Colts QB) and led the Eagles to the Super Bowl, where they would upset Tom Brady and the New England Patriots and win Super Bowl LII. He completed 28 of his pass attempts for 373 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. And who could forget his legendary touchdown reception?

While his time with the Colts was short and not during his prime. I think all Colts fans and football fans will look fondly back on Foles' career, especially that legendary run in 2017. So congratulations to the Eagles legend. I hope retirement and any future endeavors treat him well.
