If the Carolina Panthers' 17-3 preseason loss to the New England Patriots didn't have enough bad news, it got a little worse following Saturday's practice.
Panthers head coach Dave Canales revealed that 2024 sixth-round draft pick Jaden Crumedy is looking at an unknown timeline for his return after injuring his ankle Thursday night.
"Crumedy, that was a high-ankle sprain,” Canales said. “I’m not sure of the exact timetable there. I’ll be able to get you more information on that.”
Crumedy was carted off the field when the injury happened in the second quarter. After leaving the field, Crumedy was taken to the locker room in a cart, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site reported.
The rookie sixth-round pick did not record a tackle before exiting the game.
After Crumedy's injury, the Panthers signed a familiar face in Jayden Peevy to beef up the defensive line in the rookie's absence.
