The New Orleans Saints are inching closer to football in 2024. Their preparation for the upcoming season has commenced, and training camp practice is on the horizon. Then, an important three-game preseason schedule follows.

Saints head coach Dennis Allen met with the media Tuesday afternoon to answers questions and provide important updates.

Dennis Allen expects Chris Olave to practice to begin training camp

Olave has been dealing with a minor back issue. That injury was never expected to keep him out for a significant amount of time, but you can never be too careful.

Olave is the top receiver on the Saints roster for the second season in a row. He's expected to play a massive role in the offense for 2024.

Dennis Allen says Chase Young will practice tomorrow

Young has been recovering from an offseason neck procedure. The Saints were aware of his injury when they inked him to a one-year deal. They're clearly comfortable with his projected return.

The hope was that Young would be ready for training camp. It seems that his hard work has paid off, and he will, indeed, be practicing this week. Young has been mentioned multiple times by coaches this offseason for his continual rehab work in the building.

Edge rusher Tanoh Kpassagnon, linebacker Nephi Sewell, and tight end Juwan Johnson are the only three players who will not practice on Wednesday, according to Allen. Those are his expectations, at least.

Additionally, keep an eye on the status of Alvin Kamara. The star running back did report for training camp on Tuesday, but the extent of his participation is worth keeping an eye on this week.

Dennis Allen did seem confident that Kamara will practice during camp and is hopeful for that happening.

The Saints will begin training camp practice tomorrow, the next step in the offseason before a pivotal season ahead in New Orleans.
