Saquon Barkley may be playing for the NFC East rival Philadelphia Eagles now, but the New York Giants will always hold a special place in his heart, and vice versa.

Barkley was originally the Giants’ first-round draft pick (No. 2 overall) in the 2018 NFL Draft. After leading the NFL with 2,028 yards from scrimmage and setting the Giants’ rookie record for rushing yards (1,307), Barkley became just the second Giants player in franchise history to win the Offensive Rookie of the Year award.

In six seasons with the Giants, Barkley logged a total of 5,211 rushing yards and 35 touchdowns. He also hauled in 2,100 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns.

He earned two Pro Bowl nods and became the first player in Giants history to rush for at least 1,000 yards in each of his first two NFL seasons.

He's certainly a Giants player that's hard to forget, making him one of the best to ever play for the Big Blue. So much so that the Giants recently ranked Barkley No. 95 on their Top 100 Players list.

Barkley took notice of the list and expressed his gratitude by sharing a message with the franchise on X/Twitter.

“All love. TBH, I think this is really dope! Appreciate it," Barkley wrote.

Barkley's departure from New York in free agency this past March was quite a surprise after posting a near-perfect six seasons with the team. However, a recent HBO "Hard Knocks" episode revealed that the Giants had zero desire to pay him after investing invested a good chunk of money into quarterback Daniel Jones

That left Barkley testing the open market and ultimately signing a three-year, $37.75 million deal, with $26 million guaranteed with the Eagles.

Now, his former team will be tasked with figuring out how to shut him down while he runs behind one of the best offensive lines in the league.
