Tyreek Hill has been the most dangerous wide receiver in the NFL since he arrived in South Florida. It appears more of the league might be starting to take heed of that than they even were last year.
The NFL Films' Twitter website revealed some ballots ahead of the release of the NFL Top 100 list that will be released before the season starts. Needless to say, Hill placed very highly in all of them.
Hill came in first, second, second, and fourth in the four ballots revealed. If that sample size is indicative, then Hill should be set to move way up significantly from where he was even last year, when he finished seventh of all players in the league.
Hill put together a second elite season in 2023, totaling a league-high 1799 receiving yards and a league co-best (with Mike Evans) 13 receiving touchdowns on 119 catches for his best yards per catch average since 2018 at 15.1. He earned the fourth first-team All-Pro selection of his career.
Had it not been for an ankle injury he sustained against the Tennessee Titans in the first quarter back on December 11 that clearly limited him the rest of the season, it's possible he could have become the first receiver in NFL history to eclipse the 2000 yard receiving mark. Prior to the injury, he certainly looked like he had a shot.
Regardless, it was best-of-the-best type of stuff from the Cheetah last year, who clearly has a sky-high appreciation by his peers around the league.
We'll see if it's top three or four high soon enough.
