There were rumors abound that the home-and-home series between Georgia football and UCLA would not happen, and that's now been confirmed after the Bulldogs announced a new matchup in its place.

Instead of the Bruins, Kirby Smart's team will now host Marshall on Aug. 30, 2025. This will mark just the second meeting between the Bulldogs and Thundering Herd. The pair have met just one previous time in 2004 when Georgia recorded a 13-3.

The announcement from Georgia came directly on the heels of UCLA announcing it would play host to Utah in the 2025 opener in the first of two contests against the Utes.

Georgia athletic director Josh Brooks spoke on the matter in a radio appearance on 92.9 The Game back in March, calling the planned home-and-home series between a "fluid situation" that seemed to be without commitment.

"With the evolution of the Big Ten schedule and our schedule, we've got to make decisions that are best for us and they've got to make decisions that are best for them," Brooks said. "Everything is in play. We'll see. It's a fluid situation."

Here's a look into the other non-conference contests Georgia has on the horizon:
