OTAs get under way for the Detroit Lions on Tuesday and one of the big things to keep an eye on is the undrafted rookies the Lions signed after the 2024 NFL Draft. We'll get to see which of these guys are going to have the best shots to make the 53-man roster after training camp. We'll also get to see which guys could be on their way out.
Today we're focusing on the guys that have the best chance to make the 53-man roster and how they can really help their cases at OTAs.
Kingsley Eguakun
Eguakun should have been drafted. Its still surprising that he didn't go on day three. The reason that Eguakun sticks is because at this point he has a chance to be the Lions center of the future. He's young enough to where he can spend time behind Ragnow and still be pretty young when Frank walks away from the game. He can also come in as relief if Ragnow misses time again.

The Detroit Lions had a really strong 2024 NFL Draft for the future of their offensive line. For starters, they drafted their right guard of the future in Giovanni Manu. At 6-foot-7 and 352 pounds, Manu figures to be a gigantic option next to Penei Sewell on the right side. Then the Lions flat out […]
Loren Strickland
The Lions are probably set at safety for the most part. Brian Branch should be heading back that way and Kerby Joseph and Ifeatu Melifonwu are already in place there. C.J. Moore is back and should make the team based on his special teams prowess.
Then there's Brandon Joseph and Loren Strickland. The latter plays with a violence that Dan Campbell and Aaron Glenn love. He's a guy that lays the wood on nearly every tackle. That should propel him into that fifth safety spot.

The Detroit Lions are low on safety help as things stand right now. They went into the 2024 NFL Draft with Ifeatu Melifonwu, Kerby Joseph and Brandon Joseph on the roster. Then they didn't draft one perse. The Lions did take Sione Vaki, but it looks like running back and special teams is his future […]
Isaiah Williams
It's the YAC ability and the fact that this receiver group isn't fully fleshed out at the moment. There's an opening there for someone to step up and show what they got and Williams is that guy. He's just so hard to stop after the catch.
Williams is another guy that should have been drafted. If he was a few inches taller and weighed 20 pounds more, there's no doubt that he would have been a day two pick. The Lions are the team that got the potential steal here.

Detroit Lions signed undrafted free agent the rest of the league just forgot to draft
The Detroit Lions signed 15 undrafted free agents after the 2024 NFL Draft. Of those guys, there was one player whose availability at that point was the most shocking and that's Illinois receiver Isaiah Williams. Of all the players the team signed, he was the guy that most felt like a lock to be drafted. […]
Steele Chambers
The Lions have a pretty full linebacker room at the moment, but if there's anyone that convince the team to take a sixth linebacker into the regular season, it's Chambers.
He could be a great special teams guy to start and could learn from the best special teams player in the league in Jalen Reeves-Maybin. The thing that could hurt him is that on the defensive side of the ball, the Lions are just so set there.

Lions UDFA Spotlight: Steele Chambers has a WWE name, but a Lions play style that could get him on the 53-man roster
Here's a guy that I didn't think the Detroit Lions would have a chance at unless they drafted him. In fact, I mocked him to the Lions in the fifth round of one of my mock drafts this year. When you see Chambers, the first thing that's really hard to not think of is the […]
Morice Norris
A hidden gem that the Lions found at the Fresno State pro day. Norris has a lot of versatility in the secondary and that's what could give him a shot. He can play cornerback, nickel and safety. It's hard to turn away a guy that can do all that.

Lions UDFA Spotlight: Fresno State’s Morice Norris’ versatility gives him a shot to make the 53-man roster
The 2024 NFL Draft is in the books and undrafted free agency is still happening. The Lions could very well sign some more players. Sunday feels like a good time to shed some light on some of the undrafted free agents the Lions have signed. One of the big ones is Fresno State cornerback Morice […]
