You can play coy as much as you want in the pre-draft process, but eventually, your moves are going to be known.
And for the Pittsburgh Steelers, the team has been visiting with virtually every positional need other than center.
But per Brian Batko of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette, that has changed:
Jackson Powers-Johnson Visits with Steelers
Largely viewed as the top center in the class or at least in the running with Duke OL Graham Barton, JPJ has had a strong pre-draft process by all accounts:
There has been plenty of talk about Pittsburgh drafting a WR, OT, or CB in round one, with the team grabbing a center down the line on day two or three of the draft.
But as I heard from one former GM, “The Steelers play their best ball when they have a good center.”
And after the team skipped Oregon’s Pro Day, it seemed like they wouldn’t really be in on JPJ, but an official visit proves otherwise.
So it’s clear that all options are on the table for Pittsburgh, whether that be positions, or trade scenario's.
It all sets up for a wild weekend in just over two weeks.
