The New Orleans Saints received tough news on Tuesday. The team is concerned regarding the status of star offensive tackle Ryan Ramczyk following knee surgery this offseason. His recovery has not gone as smoothly as originally projected.
The Saints could be without Ramczyk next season due to his injury.
Saints head coach Dennis Allen told the media that Ramczyk's progress has not been what the organization had hoped for by now. For the OT, the injury is one that will not simply just go away with time, either.
"I think it still remains to be seen. At the combine I was feeling a lot better about it, but there hasn't been as much progress as I hoped for… I wouldn’t jump to any conclusions right now, but we’ll see how it goes over the next three, four, five, six months — whatever it is — before we get to the season."
— Saints HC Dennis Allen
Ramczyk says that he has a cartilage defect in his knee. That issue has formed some uncertainty for his NFL future.
If Ramczyk cannot play in 2024, offensive tackle becomes the Saints' biggest need in the 2024 NFL Draft.
