The Philadelphia Eagles have started their top 30 pre-draft visits.
According to Andrew DiCecco of InsideTheBirds.com, the Eagles hosted former Penn State edge Chop Robinson at NovaCare Complex earlier this month.
Robinson is widely considered a first-round draft prospect following his outstanding collegiate career and NFL Combine results.
He transferred from Maryland after his freshman year and became one of the Nittany Lions' best defenders.
Before leaving for the draft, Robinson racked up 41 total tackles, 17.5 for a loss, and 9.5 sacks in two seasons at Penn State.
Robinson, alongside Alabama's Dallas Turner, stole the show at the combine in February.
He ran an impressive 4.48-second 40-yard which ranked second behind Turner's 4.46 40. Robinson's 1.54 seconds at 10 yards was also one of the best for edge rushes with his size ( 6-foot-3 and 254 pounds) over the last decade. And Robinson's broad jump of 10 feet and 8 inches tied for first in the group.
It's clear that the Eagles want to improve their struggling pass rush, hence why they spent money on adding Bryce Huff at the start of NFL free agency.
They also are looking for younger options with Vic Fangio now in charge of the defense and are not eager to pay a near 30-year-old edge like Haason Reddick.
That means the chances of them drafting an edge earlier in the draft are high and Robinson could be that guy if he's still available when the Eagles pick at No. 22 overall.
