Brock Bowers, TE, Georgia
Height/Weight: 6-3, 243
Age: 21.3
Strengths
- Explosiveness: Elite takeoff and open field speed for the position
- Utilization-Versatility: More then a Y or even flexed out TE. Can play off the ball, as a traditional WR or even as an H back that takes snaps on jet sweeps
- RAC: Vision, speed, and power in the open field to break tackles, make people miss and eliminate pursuit angles
- Blocking: Much better than he’s given credit for. Creates displacement both at the second level and along the edge
- Competitiveness: Could have shut it down after injuring an ankle that required surgery. Instead opted for tightrope and a chance to get back and win another championship with Georgia
Areas of Improvement-Concerns
- Contested Catch: Doesn’t always corral the ball in tight quarters
- Size: Some teams may knock him for not being of traditional Height-weight-length measurables at the position
- Durability: Ankle that required surgery and forced him to miss testing and workouts during pre-draft process
Evaluation:
One of the better pure prospects in the class, positional value and the recent play of former top 5 pick and Falcons TE Kyle Pitts may cause Bowers to slide, but he’s a top 5-10 overall player in this class. With traits that are reminiscent of a WR #1, coupled with an ability to play in-line and hold up at the point of attack, Bowers is a weapon that offensive coordinations across the league will be yearning for.
James Foster’s Latest Big Board Ranking:
12th overall, #1 TE
