The New York Giants kicked off their offseason on Monday. They began voluntary workouts for the 2024 season. Quarterback Daniel Jones spoke to the media following workouts. He provided an update on his return from a torn ACL and neck injury in 2023.
Jones' plan is to be fully cleared for Giants training camp.
Jones also assured the media that his neck is 100% healthy.
"My neck is 100 percent healthy. That was a stinger-type injury, which is common in football." — Jones
It's the second time that Jones has dealt with a neck injury. In 2019, he underwent surgery for it and missed the final six games of the season.
That piece of his update is quite notable. Neck injuries can be extremely dangerous, especially in football. Luckily for Jones, it sounds like his issue was not a long-term one.
As for the torn ACL, the return from that injury is one of the most extensive. It's a positive sign that he feels comfortable regarding his return by the time training camp starts.
