Georgia could have their very own Calvin Johnson, aka "Megatron," on their roster.

Transfer wide receiver Colbie Young has drawn high praise for his overall spring ball performance and one of his teammates and fellow wide receiver, Dominic Lovett, sees some Megatron in him.

“I say like a ‘Megatron’ type style,” wide receiver Dominic Lovett said of Young following his G-Day performance, via Dawgnation. “Yeah, Megatron.”

Young hauled in only three catches for 27 yards at Georgia's spring game that ended in a 20-20 tie, though he proved that he could catch anything.

All three catches were impressive, including two that came on third downs, impressive, however it was his touchdown grab when he leaped in front of Julian Humphrey that caught many viewers' attention.

Megatron is an extremely strong comparison, but Young's 6-foot-5 and 215-pound size mixed with his jumping ability and hand-eye coordination makes him a matchup nightmare anywhere on the field, especially in the red zone — much like Megatron was at Georgia Tech and in the NFL.

The Bulldogs scored 89 percent of the time in the red zone last fall but were at 98 percent in 2022.

Having a receiving threat like Young in the mix could make all of the difference in Georgia getting back to their championship offense.

It's also promising that Young has already received head coach Kirby Smart's approval, even if there is still room for improvement.

"He’s a big body, he’s a tough matchup for all teams," Smart said. "I’m pleased with where he is. He still has work to do in terms of learning. I look at him like RaRa last year. This time last year, RaRa didn’t understand the offense. He couldn’t line up and execute all the time. RaRa’s a lot further along. We didn’t have to give him as many reps, we didn’t have to give Arian as many reps. Colbie did a nice job.”

Now, the pressure is on for Young.
