Puka Nacua's rookie season was one of the record books.  He knows that.

However, to reach that level of productivity, he has to take a holistic approach to football. That means following through on his diet. And for Nacua, a notoriously picky eater, it means getting a bit inventive.

"[They've been] able to still set a game plan around the things that I like and be like, 'OK, instead of going to get quick carbs of fries, what are the things that we can do?'" Nacua said, via ESPN's Sarah Bishop. "I mean I'm not big on fruit or vegetables either, but finding the other ways I can get those same nutrients from healthier foods that will pay me benefits instead of just being full at the moment."

Nacua has also eliminated several foods that were not good for him, such as fried foods and fast food, as part of his plan. As a rookie, Nacua used to rely on these foods for convenience, but he has made significant progress by taking the time to cook for himself.

If the plan works, Nacua could find himself building on what was already a successful rookie season. During his 2023 run, Nacua caught 105 passes for 1,486 yards and six touchdowns.

He knows he was great during the 2023 season. He wants to be better when the 2024 campaign rolls around.
