Biggest Games on the Bucs' 2024 Schedule

Buccaneers at Lions: The Bucs return to Motown, where the Lions knocked them out of the playoffs, last year. With most of last year's cast, on both sides, returning, this is easily one to circle.

Buccaneers at Chiefs: Tampa Bay has some really tough road games on its schedule and Arrowhead Stadium is certainly one of them. Especially if it's the season-opener on Thursday Night Football.

Buccaneers vs. 49ers: Another measuring stick game against one of the elite teams. Can the Bucs finally get the best of Kyle Shanahan and the 9ers? Shanahan and co. have certainly gotten the best of them over the last couple of contests.

Buccaneers at Cowboys: A December game, in Dallas, on Sunday Night Football? I mean, the way this series has gone over the last few years, it makes all the sense in the world for both teams to face off when playoff stakes are at their highest.

Primetime matchups with streaming info

Which games will be primetime viewing and which ones will be streamed?

The Bucs have a total of four primetime games in 2024:

  • Week 5, Oct. 3: Bucs at Falcons (TNF), 8:15pm ET
How to watch/stream: You will need an Amazon Prime account in order to stream this game. Some local channels will still broadcast the game, but that's not a guarantee.
  • Week 7, Oct. 21: Bucs vs Ravens (MNF)
How to watch/stream: Access to ESPN or ESPN+ is required to watch this game. Those two are like the NFL above – they can be obtained through cable, satellite, and/or streaming services.
  • Week 9, Nov. 4: Bucs at Chiefs (MNF)
How to watch/stream: Access to ESPN or ESPN+ is required to watch this game. Those two are like the NFL above – they can be obtained through cable, satellite, and/or streaming services.
  • Week 16, Dec. 22: Bucs at Cowboys (SNF)
How to watch/stream: Access to NBC or Peacock is required to watch the game. They can be obtained through cable, satellite, and/or streaming services.

Strength of Schedule (based off Vegas win totals, not 2023 record)

Warren Sharp of Sharp Football Analysis does this cool thing every year where he ranks teams' strength of schedule based off Vegas' projected win totals for the upcoming season. He doesn't base it off the standard last-year's-record model and it makes a lot more sense, because of all the change teams go through during the offseason.

Sharp has the Bucs' SOS as the 11th-easiest, as you can see below:

Revenge Games on the Bucs' 2024 schedule

  • Bucs at Lions: Yes, we are double-dipping, here. Not only is it a revenge game, it's a measuring stick for the Bucs to see where they stand against what should be a top-5 team in 2024. There's also the Carlton Davis III factor.
  • Bucs vs. 49ers: As alluded to earlier, the Bucs have had some rather large difficulties with Shanahan and co. Tampa has lost all three matchups dating back to 2019 and just in general with San Fran, it has lost five of the last seven matchups. This is a big one, for sure.
  • Devin White's return to Tampa Bay: The Bucs re-signed just about all of their free agents. Except White and a few others. Think he took that to heart? I'm sure he's going to be more than up and ready when he returns to the Bay.

5 Must-watch Matchups

  • Mike Evans vs. L'Jarius Sneed: One of the NFL's best receivers against one of the best corners – how does it get better than that?
  • Baker Mayfield vs. Chauncey Gardner-Johnson: These two chirped at each other a bit after the playoff loss. Mayfield will certainly be looking to make some plays against CGJ when Philly comes to Ray Jay.
  • Devin White vs. Bucs offense: The former top-5 pick is going to be fired up, especially playing against his former team in Tampa.
  • Mike Evans/Chris Godwin vs. Carlton Davis III: These guys used to go up against each other in practice for six seasons – now they'll do it, for real, on the football field.
  • Graham Barton vs. Dexter Lawrence: The 2024 first-rounder should win the starting center job and man, going up against Sexy Dexy is a tall task that is also must-see TV.
