The Chicago Bears made an interesting selection with their fourth round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft in Iowa punter Tory Taylor but he already has some fans in the building.
After the Bears announced the selection, the Bears first overall pick Caleb Williams quickly reached out to the team's new punter and said "Hey, you're not going to punt too much here."
Williams also shared his support for Taylor on his Instagram re-sharing the Bears official post while saying "Special teams, special plays, special players," a saying made famous on social media by the influencer Sketch.
Prior to the draft, Williams and Sketch shared a cool moment together as well with Williams throwing passes to him with YouTuber IShowSpeed in coverage. Sketch also had another cool moment during the draft after announcing tight end Cade Stover as the Houston Texans' 123rd overall pick.
Williams' message to Taylor is seen with the upmost confidence for the team's new-look offense and sends a message to the rest of the league, the Bears don't plan to punt and if they do, they now have the best punter on the field.
Taylor will be a welcome addition to the Bears' special teams unit after Trenton Gill ranked last in the entire league in net average during the 2023 season. It was an interesting selection to make, but one that could pay off in a big way.
