The Philadelphia Eagles kicked off the 2024 NFL Draft prioritizing their secondary and drafted Toledo cornerback Quinyon Mitchell at No. 22 overall.
It's the first time that Howie Roseman had selected a cornerback before the fourth round and the first time since 2002 that the Eagles franchise had selected a cornerback in Round 1.
But it was time considering the Eagles' had an obvious weak spot in their secondary last season that they needed to fix.
The Eagles still have plenty of other needs to address starting at linebacker, a No. 3 wide receiver and on the offensive line.
But there's a chance they continue to beef up their defensive line since Howie Roseman loves to stack the trenches, which is never a bad idea.
Heading into Day 2, the Eagles have both of their picks in the second round remaining at No. 50 and No. 53 overall since they didn't need to trade up for Mitchell after all.
