The Buffalo Bills utilized their second of two second-round selections on the defensive side of the ball.

After taking Florida State wide receiver Keon Coleman with the 33rd overall pick, the Bills selected Utah safety Cole Bishop at No. 60 overall.

It was completely expected that the Bills would address the position after Jordan Poyer was released, and Micah Hyde is likely to not be back in 2024.

The Bills did re-sign Taylor Rapp, and signed Mike Edwards from the Kansas City Chiefs, but they lacked a real presence behind them. Bishop was a Jim Thorpe Award finalist in 2023, which goes to the best defensive back in the nation.

Bishop intercepted two passes in 2023, and lined up all over the defense. He had 97 snaps in the slot, 25 at corner, 180 in the box, 247 at deep safety, and 38 snaps in which he lined up on the defensive line. This is a versatile guy that Sean McDermott is going to have a lot of fun with- a great selection for the Bills.
