There's been a lot of change for the Seattle Seahawks this offseason, with plenty of new faces coming in after the franchise opted to part with head coach Pete Carroll and replace him with Mike MacDonald.

But they have brought back a familiar face to help them shore up their offensive line, agreeing to terms to bring back offensive tackle George Fant.

The move was first reported by NFL Network's Tom Pelissero before being made official by Seattle.

Fant spent the first four years of his career with Seattle before a spell with the New York Jets. He spent last season with the Houston Texans.

He started 24 games for Seattle in his first spell with the Seahawks before going on to start 36 for the Jets. In Houston, he served as a valuable veteran presence at the right tackle position as the Texans made an unexpected run to the divisional round of the AFC playoffs.

Now he heads back to Seattle, where he will likely serve as the swing tackle behind starters Abe Lucas and Charles Cross.

Lucas featured in only six games last season while 2022 first-round pick Cross missed three, so having Fant as an experienced backup who can operate on both sides will be extremely useful for the Seahawks as they look to navigate what could prove to be a transitional year for the franchise.
