Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow is three months into his recovery from suffering a season-ending wrist injury last November. And he can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Burrow told ESPN's Ben Baby that he expects to be fully cleared to practice ahead within the next couple months, specifically in May.

"I think middle of May is when I am expecting to kind of be cleared for full contact and everything," Burrow said Sunday. "Over the next month (to) month and a half, we'll kind of decide all those things."

This return date is important as it's not just two months prior to training camp beginning, but it's also ahead of when the Bengals typically have their organized team activities in the Spring/Summer. Cincinnati had its OTA period last year during the first two weeks of June.

Joe Burrow expected to participate in Bengals OTAs

Burrow throwing and practicing with the Bengals for OTAs would lead to a full offseason of official work leading up to the 2024 regular season, provided there are no setbacks or additional injuries he incurs. It goes without saying how huge that would be for Cincinnati's chances to returning to the Super Bowl.

The fear of Burrow getting injured so late last season would be how much time he'd miss in the offseason. He's been injured in each of the last three offseason periods, specifically during training camp.

Burrow's expected return date, now coming from the quarterback himself, is great news in reversing that trend.
