The Kansas City Chiefs are still actively trying to find a trade partner for their standout cornerback, L'Jarius Sneed, who was widely considered the best in the game last season. He shut down every wide receiver he lined up across from, and when you take a gander at the Chiefs' 2023 schedule, they played the best receivers in the league week in and week out.
Sneed should be a hot commodity, and the Chiefs want to keep him, but unfortunately, they want to send him somewhere that he can get paid, as it will be very difficult to do that in Kansas City. We have heard there are at least six teams interested in trading for Sneed, which would likely come at the cost of a Day 2 pick in the draft due to his expiring contract at the end of 2024. However, now, one other team is throwing their name in the mix.
According to A to Z Sports' Buck Reising, the Tennessee Titans are very interested in getting the lockdown cornerback.
"L'Jarius Sneed is still something they're [Titans] actively exploring a week later," Reising said on 104.5 The Zone. "The buzz around Sneed and the Titans has never been louder."
Trading for Sneed would be tricky for any team because you have to give up compensation for a player who may not want to be there the year after you acquire him. Yet, Sneed is a guy that is hard to pass on, especially in a league full of elite, dominant wide receivers.
For the Chiefs, keeping him isn't necessarily a necessity, as seeing how well they have drafted cornerbacks under Brett Veach and seeing how good Trent McDuffie is. They have a few other guys, like Joshua Williams, Nazeeh Johnson, and even Jaylen Watson, that are only continuing to get better.
The fit Sneed would have with Tennessee is amazing, though. If they are willing to pay him because Sneed does deserve it, I'm sure he would love to go to a team as classy as the Titans.
