The Seattle Seahawks have finally made a signing from another team in free agency, and it's one that should make quarterback Geno Smith very happy.
Seattle, per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, has agreed to terms with former Cleveland Browns offensive lineman Nick Harris.
Harris is set to sign on a one-year deal worth $2.51 million, with incentives that could take the contract to a maximum value of $3.26 million.
A fifth-round pick of the Browns in 2020, Harris has started in only four of his 40 career games to this point.
However, he has center-guard versatility and right now would likely be Seattle's starting left guard, the Seahawks having seen Damien Lewis depart for the Carolina Panthers.
Whether that will be the case by the time the Seahawks have finalized their roster for the 2024 season is debatable, but, in landing a 25-year-old who can play multiple spots, Seattle and its quarterback should be quietly satisfied with the franchise's first external move on the open market.
