Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker provided a new update on the shooting at the Kansas City Chiefs' Super Bowl LVIII parade and rally on Wednesday, February 14.
Peters Baker announced that a third adult, 20-year-old Terry J. Young, is facing four federal charges. He was charged with second-degree murder, unlawful use of a weapon, and two counts of armed criminal action in the shooting death of 43-year-old Lisa Lopez-Galvan.
"We get complicated cases, but this case has been challenging," she said via press release.
Two adults, Lyndell Mays and Dominic Miller, were previously charged with second-degree murder and several weapons charges. Miller's weapon is believed to be the one that fired the shot that struck and killed Lopez-Galvan.
Mays, Miller, and Young have now been issued $1 million bond amounts as they await trial. Three unidentified juveniles are also in custody and face gun-related charges in connection with the shooting, including charges that involve the illegal purchase of two firearms. Three other adult men face charges of weapons trafficking concerning the weapons found outside of Union Station.
The Jackson County's Prosecutors Office believes that they have identified and taken into custody everyone who discharged a firearm at the parade on Feb. 14. The shooting is still believed to have taken place as the result of a verbal altercation and disagreement turned violent.
