While we are certainly in the midst of "lying season" on the NFL calendar, often times where there's smoke there’s fire regarding NFL rumors. 

And following the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, rumors surrounding Diontae Johnson's future with the Pittsburgh Steelers are swirling, even if he denies them. 

So in preparation of what could be, here's a look at three trade destinations for the Pro Bowler:

Team 1: Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys may be preparing to pay CeeDee Lamb a massive contract extension, but it takes more than one to build a WR corps. 

With Michael Gallup unable to live up to his contract post injury, he is likely to be a post June 1st release, allocating nearly $10m in cap savings for Dallas. 

That leaves Brandin Cooks and Jalen Tolbert as the top two options behind Lamb. 

So if Dallas could scoop up Johnson for a rumored 3rd round pick, he gives them a proven second option with one year left on his deal to align with Dallas' “all-in” mantra, even if their recent actions speak louder than their words. 

Team 2: New Orleans Saints

While the Saints have a proven playmaker in what will be third year wide receiver Chris Olave, the cupboard is awfully bare behind him with Michael Thomas' contract structured as though he is free agent, leaving only A.T. Perry as the other WR under contract for the upcoming season. 

Johnson could replace Thomas as the route runner and underneath merchant of the WR room, as Olave is used over the intermediate and deep parts of the field with Perry as the ball winner over the top. 

Team 3: Arizona Cardinals

With Marquise “Hollywood” Brown slated to hit free agency, the Cardinals WR room is one of the least proven in the league, hence the common mock of Marvin Harrison Jr. or a different rookie WR to the team at 4. 

But even then, the team would lack a tenured weapon on the perimeter, something they will need if they want to go all in around Kyler Murray, making Diontae Johnson an enticing option.
