The New Orleans Saints are in a good spot. At pick 14, they will have a solid selection at their biggest needs in the 2024 NFL Draft. Pass rusher is a massive need for their roster, and mock drafts have shown that consistently in recent exercises.
In Dane Brugler's most recent mock draft, the Saints picked Alabama edge rusher Dallas Turner with the 14th pick.
This match feels too easy. Turner isn’t quite Micah Parsons, but he can be used in a similar way with his ability to drop, rush from different angles or be an impact player versus the run. He would instantly upgrade New Orleans’ front seven.
Turner is an explosive athlete that dominated at the NFL Scouting Combine. He was already projected to be a top 20 pick, but his performance there may have solidified him in the top 15 picks.
Brugler mentioned Micah Parsons alongside the Saints' pick of Turner. He does not have the ceiling of Parsons, but they do share similarities. They've got elite athleticism and show versatility and multiple spots on defense.
New Orleans could line Turner up at multiple places to confuse offenses.
Not to mention, he can be a game wrecker on the pass rush. They do not possess that player on the DL right now.
Carl Granderson is a consistent producer against the run and pass, but he's limited compared to some of the most explosive rushers in the NFL. Turner does not have those physical limitations, and he tested really well. The Saints value those aspects of a prospect highly.

He is a baller.
