We knew the Bills would be making massive changes ahead of the new league year in order to free up cap space. Some of those moves would include saying goodbye to tenured veterans, and one of those veterans had their name called.

The Bills are releasing safety Jordan Poyer. Poyer was set to carry a cap hit north of $7 million in 2024, which was the final year of his contract in Buffalo.

Poyer joined the Bills in 2017. He began his career as a seventh-round draft pick of the Philadelphia Eagles in 2013, before going to the Cleveland Browns, where he would remain until signing with the Bills.

Poyer was an All-Pro in 2021 and a Pro Bowler in 2022. He and Micah Hyde formed one of the league's best safety tandems of the last decade and helped turn the fortunes of the Bills.
