Jason Kelce said that he really did want to jump onto a flaming table while at Highmark Stadium in January for the Kansas City Chiefs matchup against the Buffalo Bills. But unfortunately, at that time, it didn't happen.
However during the latest episode of the New Heights podcast, Jason apparently made it happen. And they have it all on video.
Yet, there was one key reason why he finally did it.
"“There was an agreement made. A pact agreed to," Jason said. "The pact was if the Bills beat the Chiefs in the New Heights team name competition, that I would have to jump through a flaming table. It was time I pony up."
And he had the perfect reaction: “It was exhilarating”
Bills Mafia are known for jumping through tables, but Jason's brother, Travis Kelce, claimed that it probably didn't quite live up to their expectations.
“I can’t wait to hear Bills Mafia. Just look at the comments and see you get torched for this,” Travis said with a laugh. “You were like bubble wrapped, dude. You were like the safest human being to ever jump through a flaming table.”
But Jason had a valid reason for doing it the way he did it.
“Listen, I didn’t want to catch on fire. If I had been 20 Miller Lites deep, or whatever beer of choice… If I had been 20 beers deep. I would have jumped in that thing with my t-shirt on," the newly retired offensive lineman said. “Either way, the table broke. The debt is paid," Jason said. "It was electric. I will say it was exhilarating.”
And Travis had the best time watching along.
“I enjoyed every bit of watching you do it," the Kansas City Chiefs tight end said. "The build up was hilarious – the questions, the safety briefing with the fire marshals.’
However, what's even better is that the Chiefs do play in Buffalo once again next year during the regular season. So Jason could find himself in a similar situation once again.
“Listen… I’m not going to say no to anyone with a flaming table, I’ll let you know that right now.”
