Former Georgia star tight end Brock Bowers did not participate in the on-field testing drills at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis last week as he continues to recover from an ankle injury, but that did not hurt his draft stock.

In fact, Bowers still ranks No. 1 on A to Z Sports Travis May's latest 'Top 10 Tight End Rankings' following the combine results ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft.

May sites Bowers' incredible run at Georgia as a reason why it's hard to ignore that he's anything less than the best tight end in this year's draft class:

"Brock Bowers is still in a tier by himself and it isn't close. No, he wasn't the best in his formal interview session. In fact, his answers were so bland and bad many media folks were quite turned off by him, but don't let that fool you.

"Bowers is the only two-time John Mackey Award winner in college football history (awarded to the best tight end in the country). He had the most productive first three seasons of any tight end ever. And although he didn't compete in the on-field tests, any concerns about his size can be tossed now after measuring in at 6'3", 243 pounds."

May did add that after speaking to inside sources at the combine there's a slight chance that Bowers is no longer a top 10 pick as many originally thought, however, the Bulldogs product is still fully expected to go off of the draft board inside the top 20.

Bowers, a two-time National champ at Georgia, reeled in 175 catches for 2,538 receiving yards and 31 total touchdowns in three seasons with the Bulldogs.

While he did not test at the combine, he is set to show off his skills in front of NFL evaluators at Georgia’s Pro Day on March 13.
