The Miami Dolphins now know exactly where they will be picking when the 2024 NFL Draft gets underway on Thursday April 25 from Detroit, Michigan.
The NFL released the compensatory draft picks for eligible teams on Friday, which completed the draft picks and draft order for the entire draft. The Dolphins did not receive any compensatory picks.
So where are the Dolphins picking in this year's draft?
Dolphins' official picks in the 2024 NFL Draft
- Round 1 (21st overall)
- Round 2 (55th overall)
- Round 5 (157th overall)
- Round 6 (183rd overall)
- Round 6 (197th overall)
- Round 7 (241st overall)
Quick take
The Dolphins unfortunately have a massive gap in their draft from the 55th pick to the 157th pick. A part of that comes from the Dolphins being forced to forfeit their third-round pick as part of the league's ruling against the team for its tampering with Tom Brady and Sean Payton from 2019-2021. Miami also had to give up its 2023 first round pick and owner Stephen Ross was suspended and fined $1.5 million.
Miami parted with their fourth-round pick as part of the trade that brought Bradley Chubb to Miami in November 2022.
Dolphins general manager Chris Grier will have his work cut out for him to land more than a pair of impact players, with the middle rounds completely devoid of picks. As such, it will be interesting to see if he is willing to move down and try to pick up more picks, or if he stands firm and takes an impact player at their slotted position.
Or if he ends up trading either his first or second round picks for an immediate impact player, as he's done before and indicated he's open to potentially doing again.
