Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Ekow Boye-Doe is making great use of his time during the offseason.

Boye-Doe made a trip to his home country of Ghana to inspire youth to follow in his footsteps and play football, per Glenn Kinley of KSNT News.

Boye-Doe's path to the NFL was an unlikely one. He and his family moved from Ghana to Lawrence, Kansas when he was three years old. His parents didn't want him to play football, but after a lot of convincing and showing that he had a clear talent for it, Boye-Doe found his way onto the field.

With money being tight, Boye-Doe and his brothers went door-to-door selling football cards to raise money for him to play in a youth league. Boye-Doe would go on to play his college ball at Kansas State from 2019-2022. He was named an honorable mention All-Big 12 member after recording 26 tackles, five pass deflections, a fumble recovery, and a forced fumble during his senior year.

The Chiefs signed Boye-Doe as an undrafted free agent following the 2023 NFL Draft. He impressed enough during training camp and preseason to earn a spot on the team's practice squad following final roster cuts.

Boye-Doe was promoted to the active roster in Week 15 against the New England Patriots, where he impressively downed a punt on the one-yard line, earning praise from coach Andy Reid.

Boye-Doe capped off his memorable rookie campaign with a Super Bowl win over the San Fransisco 49ers. With a possible departure from star cornerback L'Jarius Sneed looming, Boye-Doe could have a shot at being a full-time member of the 53-man roster next season.

In the meantime, it's cool to see him encouraging the youth of Ghana to give football a try. The NFL's exposure is continuing to grow internationally, and Boye-Doe is helping with that effort. Football, and sports in general, can be a golden ticket for youth to get into college and beyond.
