For a 3-4 year span, Thomas was one of the top receivers in football. He set records and was a model of consistency. In recent years, though, he has struggled to get on the field due to injuries. It's been plenty of bad luck.
Now, it is time for both sides to move on. Thomas has been quite active on social media recently, not holding back any strong negative feelings for the Saints organization. Players and coaches have both caught some flack, and it is likely that he will play elsewhere next season.
Thomas posted a video of him with Saints fans after a game on Twitter (X) this past weekend.
It felt like a 'goodbye' video for the fans that have stuck with Thomas through ups and downs of his career.
Of course, this comes as an inference due to his recent social media activity and the Saints' perceived openness to moving on after giving him a one-year "prove it" deal last season. He did not get to produce very much on that contract due to a lack of availability.
All in all, it has not been the prettiest breakup between the two sides, but many fans will not forget his time in New Orleans. At his peak, Thomas was a fan favorite for almost every Saints fan.
