The Las Vegas Raiders survived the roster cut-down day and managed to put together a pretty decent roster. However, that also means they had to let some good players go.
When you do that, you hope those players clear waivers or re-sign from the team so they can be on the practice squad.
For the Raiders, they couldn't get any players off the waiver they put in a claim for. However, they did lose one they were hoping cleared waivers; that way, they could bring it back.
Man, he is a stud too.
Standout rookie linebacker Drake Thomas was claimed off waivers by the Seattle Seahawks after they let linebacker Artie Burns go.
Thomas was an undrafted free-agent rookie, but he was playing his way onto the 53-man roster. However, Curtis Bolton's preseason play eventually won the job. Thomas has a ton of potential and is good right now.
The Seahawks are getting a stud, while the Raiders are losing one.
