The Detroit Lions added a running back to their practice squad today when they signed former Jet Zonovan Knight.
Knight is a perfect addition to the Lions. He was actually on our list of recently cut players that the Lions should sign on Tuesday morning. The reason being that he can run the ball pretty well. He has speed and he's able to bowl guys over.
Knight will go to the practice squad for now. Once the Lions move players to the injured reserve list on Wednesday night as they're expected to do, that will open up a roster spot or two. Knight very well could be elevating up to be the Lions third running back.
Knight played seven games for the Jets last year and started four of them. He ran for 300 yards and a touchdown in those games.
