Arkansas State head coach Butch Jones went viral on Saturday and it wasn't for a feel-good reason.
The former Tennessee Vols head coach saw his team lose 73-0 on Saturday to an Oklahoma Sooners team that's coming off a 6-7 season.
At one point during the game, Jones looked dejected which led to one of his players briefly consoling him on the sideline.
Here's the moment:
I know things didn't work out with Jones at Tennessee. And there were some rough moments during Jones' tenure at UT that some Vols fans will never forget about. But that's still a tough scene. Regardless of what happened at Tennessee, Jones is just trying to find his way at Arkansas State and it looks like it just isn't going to work out.
Coaching can be a tough industry — especially when the wins are few and far between as they have been for Butch at Arkansas State.
Maybe Jones will right the ship this season. Or maybe this will be the end of the road for him at ASU. Either way, it was tough to watch the former Tennessee head coach — who once had his name on shirts that said "Butch Please" (which were proudly wore by Vols fans) — in a state of despair on Saturday after a disastrous loss to the Sooners.
