The Kansas City Chiefs are very fortunate to have a guy like quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who is already considered a top quarterback of all time. There are thoughts that he could give Tom Brady a run for his money as the greatest of all time.
There are also thoughts that he has already dethroned Aaron Rodgers as the most talented quarterback ever. But you don't just have talent and make it as far as Mahomes has.
You don't just have talent and do the things he has done at such a young age. Other things go into it all. The Chiefs offensive coordinator has been lucky enough to see him when he was a rookie, not even starting, has been his quarterback coach, and has now seen him at the peak of it all.
"There's no one around that's as competitive as he is, no one," Matt Nagy told the media on Monday. "He's one, and there is no 1a. No. 2 is his focus. No. 3 is he doesn't miss anything. He sees everything."
The competitive thing stands out most because you want your franchise player to have that "dawg" or "Kobe" mentality. It would appear, and especially after seeing the Netflix documentary Quarterback, Mahomes certainly has that.
The best part is that we get to see it in Kansas City for another ten years or so. He has a real chance to completely change the game and become the greatest player to ever play, and we get to watch it all unfold. Hopefully, we continue to see many more crazy plays, too
Chiefs’ Andy Reid, Patrick Mahomes don’t mince words regarding Chris Jones’ holdout
